[aw] Daily Spec Coverage Review: reported incomplete result #70341
Review the failure details below for a targeted fix, or assign this issue to a coding agent to investigate.
Failure details
Runtime evidence
[!WARNING] Task Could Not Be Completed: The workflow recorded a report_incomplete signal: the task was not completed or completion could not be confirmed.
Error details:
Completion signal: agent reported incomplete (reason and details excluded)
Safe-output tools: available at gateway snapshot (registered 5 tools)
Safe-output CLI calls observed: unknown (not recorded)
Safe-output MCP calls observed: 1
Safe-output persistence: nonempty (1 record, 0 malformed; not validation or publication evidence)
A comment or other safe output does not confirm that the requested task was completed. Only inferred runtime status and error codes are reported; agent text is excluded.
The incomplete signal was correct. The local scan succeeded: 82 files, 293 links, zero broken links or missing descriptions. Required Step 4 could not complete: GitHub MCP list_issues returned no visible items because integrity policy filtered all 50 results. The workflow explicitly requires report_incomplete in this situation; this was not a model, authentication, timeout, or budget failure.
The artifacts expose a gateway trust-enrichment parsing defect. Backend issue_read replies wrap metadata inside {method, issue: {...}}, but the pinned MCPG v0.4.35 enrichment code reads author association/login from the outer object. All 50 issues were labeled none:public, including four whose nested metadata explicitly reported COLLABORATOR. Correlating backend issue numbers with guard-filter records confirmed those four misclassifications. See the pinned enrichment implementation.
Recommended resolution: normalize the issue envelope upstream and consume the corrected gateway release, with regression coverage for wrapped/legacy replies and correct collaborator/contributor/NONE trust levels. Do not lower integrity protection or suppress incomplete reporting. Fixing the parser will not make genuinely lower-trust results readable; any change making related-issue context optional or approved-only is a separate workflow-contract decision.
The workflow source and generated lock remain unchanged from the failed revision. No fix or recovery run has been validated. Supporting metadata is in the run’s agent artifact (agent-session.jsonl, safeoutputs.jsonl, and MCP RPC/guard logs); raw issue bodies and agent reasoning are intentionally not reproduced here.
