Description

Hello I noticed that back in 2019 s390x support was added for packer as per this issue #7567 and I was wondering if there were any planes to include the compiled s390x binary in the Packer release stream as it appears there currently isn't one available for install.

I was able to build and use packer just fine following the build procedure online from the HashiCorp site. This request really comes from a pure convenience standpoint as it would make it much easier to just dnf install the binary via package manager as opposed to doing the build process.

> uname -r
4.18.0-553.170.1.el8_10.s390x

> packer --help
Usage: packer [--version] [--help] <command> [<args>]

Available commands are:
    build build image(s) from template
console creates a console for testing variable interpolation
fix fixes templates from old versions of packer
fmt Rewrites HCL2 config files to canonical format
hcl2_upgrade transform a JSON template into an HCL2 configuration
init Install missing plugins or upgrade plugins
inspect see components of a template
plugins Interact with Packer plugins and catalog
validate check that a template is valid
verify-attestation verify a signed attestation against policy
    version Prints the Packer version

Btw if the answer is we don't support s390x because we can't get our hands on the hardware for release testing and what not, I totally understand.

Use Case(s)

Users running on LinuxONE that want to build images for their KVM and zVM environments with the packer-qemu-plugin...which also could use s390x release support :)
