Please publish binaries to GitHub Releases too #4893
It makes it convenient to download particular versions manually. It also allows automation from tools that integrate with GitHub Releases like ghr, so that this would be possible any any platform without curl:
Unfortunately I don't believe that is what the team wants to achieve today and having a single source of trust is important.
If you want to download a historical version, the trusted source is listed on https://rust-lang.github.io/rustup/installation/other.html#manual-installation. You can install it however you like; the curl/bash part merely helps you decide your target tuple, and if that's known in advance for you, you can just download the file and run it.
